The Ontario Justice Education Network (OJEN) is hosting the 2018 Summer Law Institute (SLI), a two-day professional development conference for secondary school teachers on August 28 & 29, 2018. OJEN’s SLI provides teachers with the opportunity to participate in discussions and programs with judges and lawyers about timely legal issues that enhance classroom teaching and learning. Session topics will include the upcoming legalization of cannabis, the #MeToo movement, and the top five significant cases of the year presented by Justice Goudge.
The 2018 SLI will take place at Osgoode Hall (130 Queen Street West, Toronto). This year, OJEN is offering an early bird registration fee. If you register before July 16, 2018, the fee is $65. After July 16, the fee will be $95. The registration fee includes all sessions and breakfast, and lunch for both days. Registrants from all over Ontario are welcome to attend. Please note that all sessions will be in English.
