Position title: Youth Amplifiers – We Have Something to Say project
Position type: 2 Contract Positions (September 2017 – August 2018)
Employment Type: Part-time (up to 24 hrs/week)
Salary: $15.67 per hour (AMAPCEO)
The Office of the Provincial Advocate for Children and Youth (Advocate’s Office) seeks two enthusiastic youth to assist with a wide range of duties under the direction of the Lead for the We Have Something to Say project. The Youth Amplifier duties will include: administration, project support, event planning and community development and outreach.
Work with the We Have Something to Say team to assist in the delivery of a community development project;
Work collaboratively with other departments to support and monitor We Have Something to Say’s social media strategy and expand the project’s social media presence;
Develop and assist with the outreach plan with stakeholder contacts and maintaining the distribution list;
Assist and participate with the We Have Something to Say youth advisory committee;
Duties as needed to support all community development project activities related to the We Have Something to Say project.
Knowledge of and/or lived experience with issues related to children and youth with special needs is an asset;
Reliable and punctual; strong oral, presentation and written communication skills; able to work as part of a team;
Proficient with Microsoft Office products, especially Word, Excel and Outlook;
Proven working expertise with social media platforms such as Twitter, Instagram and Facebook;
Expertise with Adobe Photo Shop or other image editing software.
Police background check including a vulnerable person sector screening is required.
